2027:Cross River APC Throws Weight Behind Otu, Odey’s Ticket

The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Cross River State, has thrown its weight behind the incumbent governor of the state and his deputy, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu and Rt Hon Friday Odey, to continue in the good of excellent governance of the state come 2027.

Addressing the media at Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre Calabar, the state chairman of the party, Barr Alphonsus Ebay, surrended by his deputy and other party officials, stated that, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu and his deputy, Rt Hon Friday Odey, has performed very credible, setting a new bar in good governance, and therefore can not be replaced with someone the party does not know.

He went further to states that, you cannot change a winning team, hence the total endorsement of the governor and his deputy in the coming party primary leading to the main election in 2027.

The APC Chairman therefore charged all party support groups, elected representatives both at national and state levels to go all out and bring opposition members and party faithfuls sitting on the fence to join the train in returning Governor Otu and his deputy back to government house come 2027.

Concerning the petition against the PDP lawmaker in the senate, the All Progressives Congress(APC) chairman denied knowledge and disassociate itself from the petition against Senator Jarigbe Agom.

Barr Alphonsus Eba stated that, the party did not authorise one Bernard Afu of NORTHCO to write any petition against constituency projects  allocated to the northern senatorial district in the 2025 budget. Bernard Afu was engaged by the party in the guise of concerned stakeholders of the APC in the Northern Cross River, but not to engage in petition writing, he concluded.
