The Executive committee of the body of editors in Nigeria (NGE), known as the Standing Committee, is set to hold the 3rd Lateef Jakande Memorial Lecture scheduled to take place on July 23, 2025, at the Edmark D’Podium International Event Center in Ikeja, Lagos.
This year’s lecture with the theme “Journalism and the Challenge of Nation-Building in a Multi-Ethnic Society,” reflect Jakande’s legacy of public service and media influence. The lecture aims to celebrate Jakande’s remarkable contributions to journalism, public service, and governance, serving as a model for future generations.
His Excellency, Mallam Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State will do justice to the theme as it lecturer. There will be a panel to discuss the paper.
The event which promises to be significant, gathering prominent leaders and media stakeholders on that day, have notable dignitaries attending the event, such as:- Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, as chairman; Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as Special Guest of Honor.
The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mallam Mohammed Idris, is the Special Guest of Honour at the event.
