The Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Council, Hon. (Ophot) Felix Akposi, KSJI, has been conferred with a prestigious Award of Honour on Strategic Security Service by the Nigerian Police Force through the Lagos State Police Command, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to security and effective grassroots policing.
The honour was bestowed on him by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Jomoh Moshood, who lauded the Chairman’s exceptional track record in tackling security-related issues within Akamkpa and beyond. CP Moshood noted that Hon. Akposi’s synergy with security agencies, creation of strategic security units, and proactive monitoring structures have significantly improved local policing outcomes.
“This award is not just ceremonial but it is a testament to the impact of leadership that takes security seriously. Chairman Akposi has worked closely with our officers, established efficient security units, and shown unwavering commitment to public safety,” CP Moshood stated during the award presentation ceremony.
Reacting to the award, Hon. Akposi expressed deep gratitude, attributing the recognition to divine favour and collective effort. “First of all, I want to thank God Almighty for this honour. I appreciate the good people of Akamkpa for their unrelenting support. To my dear wife, Mrs. Glory Felix Akposi, thank you for always standing by me. This success is the product of a dedicated and hardworking team. I dedicate this award to God and thank His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, for giving me the opportunity to serve,” he said.
The award, seen as a major endorsement of the Chairman’s leadership, has further cemented his status as a reliable and visionary figure in local governance and security development.
Observers say the honour not only affirms the effectiveness of Akposi’s grassroots policies but also places Akamkpa on the national map for strategic security collaboration.
