Chief Ebri, Others Honoured At Commissioning Of Revitalize State Newspaper

The Cross River Newspaper Corporation was officially commissioned today by His Excellency, Prince Bassey Otu, the Governor of Cross River State. In a landmark event that brought together prominent personalities, media professionals, government officials, and other distinguished guests to the state.

His Excellency, Chief Dr. Clement Ebri, former Governor of Cross River State, was honoured as the Diamond Guest of Honour at the occasion, in recognition of his outstanding contributions and enduring service to the state.

The event also featured the presence of the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, as well as Mr. Ray Ekpu, a pioneer senior journalist with Chronicle, co-founder of Newswatch, Other distinguished dignitaries who were equally recognized with Awards of Excellence and Participation.

Chief Dr. Clement Ebri received special commendation for his selfless contributions toward the revival and repositioning of the Chronicle newspaper, an important institution in the media history of Cross River State.

The revival of the Chronicle under the leadership of Governor Prince Bassey Otu is a significant step toward strengthening journalism, preserving the state’s history, promoting public information, and giving Cross Riverians a stronger voice.

It was indeed a historic occasion celebrating leadership, service, journalism, and the enduring legacy of Cross River State.
