In rare recognition and acknowledgment of his exceptional industrial leadership and lasting private-sector impact, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Cross River/Akwa Ibom States Branch, has honored their own, Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh, one of the region’s most influential industrialists, with a meritorious award for his far-reaching contributions to the growth, resilience, and institutional stability of the manufacturing sector in Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.

The honor was conferred during the Association’s 18th Annual General Meeting, held at the Banquet Hall of Vinpy Hotels & Suites, Uyo. The AGM brought together manufacturers, captains of industry, policymakers, and key stakeholders to review sectoral progress and shape strategies for sustainable industrial expansion across the region.

Beyond the award, Otuekong Udoh received special recognition as the foremost Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria in the old Cross River State, a position through which he played a decisive and pioneering role during a formative era of the organized private-sector engagement. His leadership helped consolidate MAN’s influence at a time when the manufacturing sector required cohesion, credibility, and structured advocacy.

MAN leadership noted that his tenure as Chairman was marked by principled leadership, unity among manufacturers, and sustained engagement with government and regulatory institutions. These efforts, they said, strengthened the manufacturing base and improved the operating environment for industries across Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.

Presenting the meritorious award, the Association described Otuekong Udoh as a trailblazer whose influence extended well beyond individual enterprise. His commitment to industrial development, job creation, and the promotion of local capacity was identified as a lasting contribution that continues to shape manufacturing activities in the region.

The Association further emphasized that his leadership fostered a culture of cooperation, mutual respect, and shared purpose among manufacturers, laying a durable foundation for effective advocacy and meaningful private-sector participation in economic policy discourse.

In his acceptance remarks, Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh expressed appreciation to the Association for the honor, describing it as a recognition of collective effort rather than personal achievement. He noted that the award reinforces and promotes the shared responsibility of industry leaders to remain committed to strengthening local industries, advancing manufacturing growth, and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s broader development agenda.
