The leadership crisis rocking the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, 34 Ambu street Calabar, seems not to relent, as the break away group led by Victoria Clarke is not ready to repent and return back to faith, with her break away group pushing for total annexation of the whole organization through the extra legal means.
It has therefore left no room than for the The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) to come out and reaffirmed the spiritual authority of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu as the divinely anointed leader of the universal Christian organization, countering recent assertions by break away group of dissidents attempting to introduce a new leadership structure.
During a press conference held at its headquarters 34 Ambu street in Calabar, Cross River State, BCS General Secretary Senator B.W. Degi described His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu as “the King of kings and Lord of lords,” who was publicly anointed by his father and founder of BCS, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, in 1999.
“His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu is not a leader by election or committee decision; he is divinely chosen,” Degi emphasized. “Our organization is spiritually structured, not politically governed. Leadership is a matter of heavenly ordination, not corporate manipulation.”
Senator Degi criticized the dissenters led by Victoria Clarke for denying the spiritual authority of His Holiness while paradoxically acknowledging the divine status of his father, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu. “They claim to believe in the Founder but reject the Son whom the Father has anointed. This is a clear case of spiritual contradiction,” he said.
He warned that the attempt to fragment BCS is not only spiritually misguided but also potentially dangerous for the individuals involved. “Scripture warns us in Acts 5:38-39 that if something is of God, it cannot be overthrown. These breakaway elements risk fighting against the very will of God,” Degi noted.
BCS reiterated that it would continue to spread the gospel of peace and unconditional love introduced by its Founder, irrespective of distractions. “We are not forcing anyone to believe. We only ask the world to judge us by our works and doctrines,” he added.
